Dallas County Mandates Face Coverings

On April 16, 2020, Judge Clay Jenkins issued an amended order which impacts all Essential Businesses in Dallas County. Effective 11:59 pm on April 17, all employees of Essential Businesses will be required to wear face coverings for the duration of their shifts. This order will be in effect until April 30, at which point it may be extended.

The relevant excerpt from the order reads:

β€œTo the greatest extent possible, all individuals working for an Essential Business must wear a mask or cloth face covering whenever in public and whenever performing job duties in the presence of others. To the greatest extent possible, employers shall provide employees with a mask or face covering. An owner or operator of an Essential Business may refuse admission or service to any individual who fails to wear face covering.”

It is important to note that employers must provide face coverings to their employees to the greatest extent possible. This order only impacts Essential Businesses within Dallas County; local orders for other counties may differ.
